MICHIGAN COUNSELING ASSOCIATION

Call for Committee Members:

•Professional Development – Brainstorm PD opportunities for counselors, work with the Events team to plan PD events and keep us in compliance with NBCC/MDE

•Technology – Assist with website content creation and updates, support event technology needs, and increase social media presence

•Events – Plan events, recruit speakers, and host events

•Membership – Communicate with current and past members regarding need for renewal and membership value. Brainstorm members only content and increase membership value. Reach out to schools and organizations to increase membership.

•Nominations & Elections – Work with the Past-President to acquire nominations and run a smooth election process each year.

•Public Policy and Legislation – Read, research, and learn about important legislation. Update members on legislation thought website, social media, and communication. Work with the MCA leadership team to share policy suggestions with our State Legislators.

•Publication – Manage the MCA newsletter. Send out recruitment emails and social posts asking for submissions. Put together the electronic newsletter and send to members quarterly.

•Bylaws/Policy & Procedure – Read bylaws and make suggestions for change. Manage updates.
